Data Security - How to unshare files

Ares P2P enables you to share files with other users. However, it is important to ensure that you choose carefully which files you want to share. Don't share confidential files, such as financial informations, or files you do not have the right to distribute.
Be aware of what files you place or move into your shared folder.




Procedure to unshare files:

Hit Library Button
1) Hit Library button



Visualize your shared library
2) Ares Library View allows you to view and configure your shared folders



Browse your library for sensitive document
3) Browse your library for sensitive documents



Unshare sensitive file
4) Select file and hit the Unshare button



File isn't shared anymore
5) Selected file's icon changes, notice the absence of the little hand on it. This file isn't shared anymore




Procedure to unshare folders:

Notice: the folder where downloaded files are saved (c:\program files\Ares\My Shared Folder) is always shared by Ares P2P, if you want to unshare files contained in such folder, use the "Procedure to unshare files" previously described or move files elsewhere.


Hit Library Button
1) Hit Library button



Hit Preferences Button
2) Hit Preferences button



Hit Start Scan
3) Hit Start Scan button and wait till the scan completes



Uncheck folder to be unshared
4) Uncheck folder you want to unshare and hit Ok button to apply changes
